Roebling: The Story of the Brooklyn Bridge ran for a three week world premiere at Actors' NET of Bucks County (PA) in the Fall of 2009. Playing to multiple sold-out crowds, Roebling became one of the most popular and successful plays of that theater's proud 14 year history.
Brief Description: John Roebling sets out to build the most ambitious engineering project of the Industrial Revolution—The Brooklyn Bridge. But the project is beset with set-backs and tragedies that leave the Roebling family and the bridge project in crisis. Based on the true story. |
Author Notes: This is the first project I wrote and finished. The first draft was a little long and had some less than interesting scenes, edits made following two public readings greatly helped this script. |
Entertaining, historic and inspirational, Roebling is a great production for public performance as well as in an educational setting. |

"It is a wonderful production and clearly up to the standards my wife and I have come to enjoy from Actors' NET over the years." --Leonard C.
"Washington Roebling seemed to be one of the most effectively conflicted characters I've seen on stage in a long time...Bravo to the cast and to Actors' NET for uncovering this gem of a play." -- James R
